On Music and Doctrine

tisch für pössl Sitting here thinking about music this morning. I was raised in a neo-pentecostal church that denied the concept of a hypostatic union. It instead embraced the heretical doctrine of sabellianism, modalism, modalistic monarchianism, modal monarchism, or whatever you want to call it. There are songs I remember well from that era of my life. The pastors daughter would often sing consider the lilies, more love more power, and others. I say all this because this morning I awoke with a song on my heart. A song often used in parting, yet one never sang in my youth. Why? Because it would not line up with the false doctrines I was being taught. I found it sad this morning that such a simple song embraced by many churches.  I never heard sung in my entire life as a child, and young adult. Even hearing it as an instrumental on a record by Petra did not click with me till I was older. Not until God started working in me undoing some of theological damage that had been done. It is such a beautiful, and simple song of praise, and worship. I am sure Thomas Ken never knew how impactful this would be when it was penned in 1674. It has been my tearful worship this morning jack vers xlr gant mac adam baikal evo staubsauger roboter stiftung warentest 2017

The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) le petit chemin nivelles What does Jesus Culture, Bethel Church, Bill Johnson, IHOP, C. Peter Wagner, Rick Joyner,  Kim Clement and many more have in common? They are all part of a movement known as the New Apostolic Reformation or NAR for short. I have seen a stark rise in recent years in genuinely honest and well meaning people being captivated by these types of groups. As well as people flocking to false teachers outside the NAR such as Curry Blake, Joan Hunter, Michael Smith (not the CCM artist), and Derek Prince.  I even see people in the reformed community being sucked in by people like Derek Prince. And seeing Francis Chan being chosen to be a speaker at IHOP, and him going really scares me.. I have decided as time allows to begin dealing with some of these issues that I see, and to talk about my own experiences growing up in the United Pentecostal Church. Here is kind of a quick list of things you will see in the NAR in the video below.

What points me to Christ

compétences adjoint administratif hospitalier click savage kingdom season 1 Music is such a powerful force in my life. I had lunch with a friend the other day and some jabs were thrown over doctrinal differences. These discussions always lead to self evaluation for me. The concept that we will not suffer with afflictions, and that perfect healing exists in this life, is absolutely contrary to scripture. I find myself having these discussions more and more these days. At the end of the day, after the jabs are thrown things like this lyric jumps out at me today from Rival Choir places accepting old denominations

The differences in the Christian, and secular worldview

fatiguer au passe composé watch I was listening to a radio program the other day, and they had a two part series by Frank Peretti. Now while I do not agree with his theology, I think he knocks it out of the park on the differences between secular humanism, and Christianity, from a worldview perspective. If you have time check them out.

anna celia de armas check I have seen this going around. Seen it with profanity in it. I have even seen it posted by my atheist friends. What point are people generally trying to make?  How  did Jesus really love them? Lets look at a great example in John 8:1-11. maya online shopping “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”

störungen kabel deutschland 2016 go Notice that last part. A lot of people I have seen post this are trying to excuse themselves from sinful lifestyles. We are all sinners, and there is no condemnation in Christ. So I want to get that out of the way first. Yet at the same time if we are continuing in a sinful lifestyle, or any sin, and theorie des geplanten handelns ermittlungen gegen trumps beraterin click wer repariert thermomix excusing it. Then we have a problem.

relevés vent arcachon visit So back to the question how do we love them? By not being condemning, telling them they are a sinner, and that Christ can forgive them of their sin, and stand in their place. Then we move to discipleship. This is the part of the love that people often reject. I am not saying we will be sinless, but we should absolutely hate ourselves when we do, and go to our savior and confess those sins.  If you are excusing your sin then are you abiding in him?

filme für erwachsene check No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. (1 John 3:6-10 ESV)

Reflections of today, and on the 2nd question in the new city catechism. amitié zola cézanne Thinking about the 2nd question in the new city catechism, and on the sermon I heard today. What I have come to realize more and more, is just how awesome Gods grace is, and just how much I have to learn about him. I just want to be the best husband, and father I can be. Yet I also do not want to ever forget where I am. This morning while singing “beautiful scandalous night” ( a song by one of my favorite bands ) I was reminded of another song they wrote in the early 90s called wilderness. Here lately I have been hearing about perspectives in regards to applying it to theological concepts. I have been challenged here a lot. Yet the thing that is ringing out in me today, is the lyrics of this song . schnauze vom hund The first verse contains the lines

carte fréquence sncf Everybody drinks the water from the murky pool gewicht dji phantom 4 Everybody learns religion at the blind man’s school

And the third verse and chorus

Everybody begs the juror be more than merciful
For the crime we celebrate, for bigotry we learn
Everybody drinks the water from the murky pool
Surely as it heals your soul you feel your body burn

Is your faith so right
Are you so blessed
Everybody wanders in the forest
Is your heart so true
Are you that good
Everybody wanders in the woods
Everybody wanders in the forest
Everybody wanders in the wilderness

I know we serve a mighty God, but when it comes to thinking we have it all together. We are all just wondering in the wilderness, we are all cosmic criminals.

Just my thoughts for today.

Christianity, Atheism, and Pascal’s Wager by Jim McClarty

Really good video by local pastor Jim McClarty. To summarize: because you do not believe a law exists. It does not mean you will not be due the punishment, when you violate it.

Here are some links to some of the topics he mentions in his video

Sometimes we just need to step back, and see what is before us.

Videographer Rob Bliss was inspired to try a different kind of makeover. Inspired the dove evolution video he took a homeless army vet and did his own makeover, the results are amazing. It also jump started this mans desire to seek a new path. We need to remember Jesus is not a god of second chances. He is a God of third, fourth, and fifth chances.  Sometimes we need to just step back and see the path he is putting before us.

Strypers new album “No More Hell to Pay” is out and it is great!

They have done a great job on this one. Murder by pride was more commercial sounding. This record is a bit heavier, I like it!
